Route 6 Tap House is the dream of Mahopac resident and chef Dan Maffucci, who settled on this location after motorcycling with friends and finding no restaurant on Route 6 that provided the American basics: "hamburgers, steaks, chops, nice fish." It was then that Dan envisioned a place there families and working people could go, not a place "where you could only afford to go out every 6 months." Dan chose the 728 Route 6 location and brought in his parents Pat and Dan Sr. as owners.
Using his Culinary Institute training, Dan assembled a menu to suit any taste or appetite.
